All is set for the start of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams in Kesses on Monday, area Education Officer Alice Sitienei has said.
Speaking on Sunday at Cheptiret, she said plans are in place to ensure the examination is done without any malpractices.
“We are set for the KCPE, all materials are ready and we are only waiting for the big day that is on Monday where they do their rehearsal as they await the official beginning of the exams on Tuesday,” said Sitienei.
“In Kesses sub-county, we have 115 exam centers where 4,404 students will sit for their exams. We are expecting all students to be present since we have not received challenges,” she added.
Sitienei urged parents to give their children space and time time do the exam, adding that they should not exert pressure on their children to attain certain grades.
On matters preparation, she said there are enough vehicles to ferry exam papers to various centres, adding that security has also been enhanced to ensure exams are conducted in a conducive environment without disturbance.
Sitienei noted that students whose schools were closed in the ongoing national exercise to evaluate unsafe learning institutions were taken to alternative schools where they will sit for their exams.
