In a Facebook post on Sunday, Osoro also hailed the Orange party for conducting a free and fair nomination exercise.

The youthful MP further sent special advice to young politicians who have ambitions of vying for different seats in the country.

He advised youths who want to immerse themselves in politics not to take social media seriously in their politics. Instead, he advised them to work on the ground and reach the elderly as they have more votes than youths.

"While on it, I must remind our young people with interest in politics that never allow yourself to be swayed by good comments made on your page/wall and assume you are popular. Facebook, Twitter/WhatsApp/Instagram all combined have no political impact on anyone. At least NOT in Kenya yet. The so many positive/negative comments you see are from people who 'admire' you or 'dislike' you for no apparent reason and 90% of them don't hail from your region of interest, and even if they do, they have NO SINGLE influence politically," Osoro said in part of his post.

"Our young voters ndio wamejaa huku social media, sadly, they don't vote. Some wako shule, (are in school) others wanapata kazi (get jobs) some far place, others get tired of waiting, others want money to vote. Engage youths on the ground mostly for popularity but tembea omba kura kwa watu wazima (walk to older people). STOP taking social media comments so serious. Negative or positive. Uliza PK akwambie (ask PK to tell you" he added.

Benard Okoth, brother to the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth, won the seat barely days after he was heckled during the introduction of ODM candidates that were seeking the ODM ticket.

He will now battle Jubilee's MacDonald Mariga and Eliud Owalo (ANC).
