Flashy city lawyer Donald Kipkorir on Monday opined that the people behind the fake assassination letter alleging a plot to kill Deputy President William Ruto should be charged with terrorism.

In a tweet, the flamboyant lawyer asked Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i to take stun action against the authors, financiers and distributors of the letter.

"An act that is intended to cause fear amongst public members or intimidate the Government is Terrorism ... The authors, financiers & distributors of the Fake Letter to Kill the Deputy President must be charged with Terrorism. Minister Matiang’i should gazette them as Terrorists," he said.

The surfaced online last week, causing a lot of heat as politicians urged the Directorate of Criminal Investigation to speedily investigate the issue.

The letter had implicated Cabinet Secretaries Joe Mucheru (ICT), Peter Munya(Trade), Sicily Kariuki  (Health) and James Macharia (Transport) who have since denied the claims terming them political propaganda.

DCI has since established that the letter could have been written by people in DP Ruto's communication department.

So far, no one has been arrested in connection with the fake letter.
