Speaking from his office on Friday, the sub county education officer Hadnard Wanjau said that many form four leavers take the opportunity to indulge in unacceptable social vices after completing exams before the results are out.

Wanjau said that driving and computer courses are short courses that could keep the youths busy before results are out next year.

"Many youths after completing form four exams think that it is the end of school and thus indulge in activities like drug abuse. I would therefore like to ask the parents to ensure that the youths don't have extra time to indulge in drug abuse or crimes," said Wanjau.

He also told parents who couldn't afford to pay for the short courses to ensure that their children work in the shambas so long as they have something to do.

The officer further advised the form four leavers to mind about their future. He said this following the three form four leavers who were arrested while drinking and smoking bhang in Kantafu area in Matungulu sub county on Thursday.
