A farmer in Borabu constituency has recovered his two cows on Thursday from the neighbouring Sotik Constituency following an intensive search.

Felix Mokua had lost his two cattle to unknown cattle rustlers on Tuesday evening, and this resulted to intensive search which was spearheaded by Police officers from Chepilat Township.

The two cows were found in the neighbouring chemist village.

“It was not easy because few people manage to recover their cattle whenever they are stolen by rustlers. I knew they had not gone far that is why we concentrated in that village and at last we were lucky we managed to get them,” he said.

Mokua says that his crew had received credible information from residents.

“I wish to thank Chemsit residents. They cooperated with us till we managed to recover my cattle. The suspected thief had locked them inside a hut perhaps waiting to sell them,” added Mokua.

John Korir a corporal in the crakdown said that they have apprehended one suspect and he is currently in held Keroka police station where he is being grilled by authorities.

The suspect is expected to give information pertaining cattle rustling in Sotik- Borabu border.

“We have arrested the owner of the house we have found the cows in. He is currently currently being held at Keroka police station,” said Korir.
