In a stereotypic remark on Tuesday morning, Khalwale who was roughed up in Kibra's Laini Saba Ward claimed that he decided to take the youths on, basing on the Luhya dictates.

He said that therefore, he is not allowed to let an uncircumcised boy get away with a challenge on him, hence his decision to arm himself and fight back.

"Never in the culture of a Luhya man can you allow an uncircumcised boy to challenge you and you run away," he said on NTV's AM Live show on Tuesday morning.

However, the remark was not taken well by Simiyu, also a Luhya, who faulted Khalwale for using his culture to judge another culture.

He said that it is such thoughts that have been causing chaos in the Kenyan political scene, and there is a need for politicians to try and keep off such involvements.

"You cannot use your cultural practices to judge another culture. I think this is what creates chaos in our political space," said the Ford Kenya Secretary-General.

In pictures and videos making rounds on social media, Khalwale is seen retreating into a trench and reemerging with stones, before engaging the angry youths in a stone-throwing match.
