Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdirisack Jaldesa has put bars and clubs selling alcohol to minors on notice.
He says those who will be found doing this will face the full force of the law.
"I want to give stern warning to bar and club owners selling alcohol to minors that they will be arrested, taken to court and thereafter, their licenses confiscated. I will not stay mum while our children's future is being ruined, "said the Uasin Gishu Commissioner.
Speaking to the press in Eldoret town on Tuesday, Jaldesa said its against the law to sell alcohol to anyone who is below the age of 18 years.
"As the chairman of the security committee we have started crackdown for bar owners selling alcohol to minors and anyone who will be found no matter his status in the community will be arrested and his or her business closed," Jaldesa added.
The County Commissioner called on residents to give them information on bars and clubs and selling alcohol to minors and promised to act promptly.
He, however, warned parents against accompanying their children to bars saying they risk arrest if found and should take care of their children, especially during the holidays.
