A 14 year-old boy who was killed by his father last week after he ate his mandazi has finally been laid to rest at Molo cemeteries.
The boy was hit on the head by a stool and died on the spot by his father, Jacob Kariuki, who is said to be a perennial drunkard and a bhang smoker.
He is said to have arrived home drunk on the fateful day and found that his son had eaten the mandazi which made him hit him on the head.
"The post mortem showed that he died as a result of head injuries and broken ribs. He had also been hit from the back and both of his hands had been broken,” Sammy Karanja , the boy's grandfather said.
Samuel Njuguna who presided over the funeral asked parents not to involve their children in their domestic disputes.
The man is said to have had regular quarrels with his wife.
"It is good for women especially to look for authorities' intervention when quarrels go beyond a certain level. This will ensure we don't continue loosing kids when parents fight," said Njuguna.
