Duale claims that opposition leaders are working hard to distract the government from its duties.

“It is clear that opposition leaders led by my friend Raila Odinga are determined to make the Jubilee government look bad in the eyes of Kenyans. We want to tell them that we know their moves, plans and tricks,” he said.

Speaking at Kijabe Hospital on Friday, Duale noted that there is an attempt by the Coalition for Reform and Democracy (Cord) to frustrate the government efforts in fighting insecurity.

He said that the move by Cord co-principals to criticise and discredit the government was a clear indication of their ill motives.

Duale said that Cord would have convened the dialogue talks they have been calling for if indeed they (Cord) have good motives.

The National Assembly majority leader said that they would not allow Cord to continue discrediting the government.

At the same time, Duale accused Cord of being insincere and using the ‘Pesa Mashinani’ referendums calls as a campaign tool for 2017.

Duale said the government will not bow to Cords tactics and that the government will focus on working for the people.

“We have the numbers in both the National Assembly and Senate and we intend to use them to fight for the rights and agenda of the public,” said Duale.

Meanwhile, Duale has defended Deputy President William Ruto against allegations relating to the Sh28 billion Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTHR) saga.

Duale said the allegations are false and a tactic by the opposition to create a fallout between President Kenyatta and Ruto.

He called for arrest and prosecution of real suspects in the saga, urging Cord to stop tainting the name of the deputy president by linking his name to corruption scandals.
