Located at the border of two constituencies, the school’s title deed indicates that it is in Borabu while the registration number favouring Kitutu Masaba constituency, an issue that has even complicated matters in terms of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) funding.

Led by the institution’s chairman Okero Amisi, parents were unanimous that the government intervenes expeditiously to ensure the impasse is solved amicably.

“Both our children and the community are losing. We understand the problem but the political leadership from either sides is reluctant to act. Other schools are receiving funding from CDF kitty unlike us,” said Amisi pointing an accusing finger to the government.

He said efforts to apply for CDF funding to improve the institution’s infrastructure had borne no fruit since either constituency is unwilling to take responsibility

“Despite the complications, it is our right to receive support from the government. We have tried to apply but no one seems to respond and this has literally hampered learning activities by contributing significantly to the school’s performance,” added Amisi.

He urged the area MPs led by Timothy Bosire of Kitutu Masaba and his Borabu counterpart Ben Momanyi to chip in and solve the matter.

“Our leaders have to act fast and this is the right time. We will not continue living in the darkness for this long and we must be heard because learning is a jurisdiction of the government.

Kitutu Masaba CDF vice chairman Julius Tendeka confirmed the dispute but avoided to comment terming it “purely administrative”.
