Kisii County Woman Representative Janet Ong'era has dismissed her critics who she argued have been spreading lies about her leadership on social media.
Speaking on Friday evening at Omokonge village where she had gone to condole with her Communications Director Dennis Nyang'au following the death of his mother Anna Queen Nyang'au, the county MP said she will not be derailed by hate mongers.
She said she is focused on championing development across the county.
"I was elected by the people of Kisii County to represent them and articulate issues on matters development. A section of social media users who are being used by my rivals to spread propaganda should know that I'm still strong and focused," she stated.
The MP reiterated her commitment to empowering women, youths and disabled people across the county by helping them to start small businesses to earn a living and boost their lives.
According to the vocal lawmaker allied to the Raila Odinga-led Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party, youths across the county should venture into productive activities which will enable them to earn a living instead of taking handouts from politicians whose aim is to cause division among leaders and the electorates.
She further said politicians from the region should remain united and push for development.
