In an exclusive interview on Radio Maisha with Billy and Tricky, Mutua said that getting all Kamba votes in 2022 won’t help him be a president.

He needs other counties votes also as his ideologies are relevant national wide.

“Even if all Kambas vote me in during a presidential election, I cannot be President. I need votes from other regions who see me as a national leader and not a tribal leader. My ideologies are relevant across the country and that's why they are being received well.” he said

Mutua also revealed why he supports the joint government and the BBI idea. He said that the reduction of government position that is under the BBI agenda will reduce government expenditure.

“While I support an expanded government, I also suggest a reduction of some government positions. We should also reduce the cost of running govt. There has to be a balance. This can be done. I trust that will be addressed in the #BBI” he said

The Machakos county boss who is also serving his last term in office had earlier said that he will run for the country’s top seat in the next election.
