According to Victor Okoth Obingi; the Director of Rural Small Entrepreneurs (RSE) organisation, certain people in the community, more so men, do not like going to hospitals for medication, and the best way of reaching them is through medical camps and outreaches.

“The county should be organising medical camps on a frequent basis. If they cannot manage to do it on a regular basis, then they should support community based organisations such as ours to do it for the benefit of Kisumu County residents,” he said.

“The county should also focus on proper messaging system that will ensure that men and others hard to reach get medicare,” added Obingi.

He spoke on the sidelines of a medical camp organised by RSE held at the Okore Ogonda primary school in Kisumu West constituency, over the weekend.

Obingi said high cases of malaria and arthritis were discovered among a host of locals who attended the event.

“Treatment was offered with further referrals being made to the Kisumu County Hospital, and the Jaramogi Oginga Teaching and Referral Hospital (Russia),” he said.
