Defilement cases in Kiambu Sub-County are on the rise; this observation was made on Wednesday during the area's Advisory Committee meeting held at Children's office.
The meeting which was addressed by the Sub-County children’s officer, Jennifer Wangari who noted that complaints had been received from the residents that defilement victims were frustrated at Kiambu police station.
The officer urged the Sub-County intelligence committee to be alert on cases that have been denied justice.
Members of the public and parents were also further advised to be alert and report the defilement cases once they occur so that the culprits are brought to book.
It was noted that the Kiambu Level 5 Hospital was willing to help the victims who have been defiled in collaboration with the Nairobi Women’s Hospital.
Since the beginning of this year, 57 defilement cases have been reported at the children’s office.
