Kisumu Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga has lashed out at Kisumu County Assembly Majority leader Samuel Ongow after he stormed into county offices to demand for space.

Speaking to journalists in her office, Odinga said that the majority leader should concentrate on pertinent issues affecting Kisumu county assembly instead of fighting for office space at county headquarters.

“The wrangles that took place yesterday should never happen again. The scene was ugly, it is unfortunate that the majority leader can lead a team into the executive office fighting for office space for one Patrick Ouya,” said Deputy Governor.

“My officers were literary attacked by majority leader and his nephew, deputy leader and MCA who walked into offices threatening everyone. We are going to carry out investigations whether Patrick Ouya is staff from the governor's office,” added Ms Odinga.

She said that the wrangle between the speaker and the county assembly should stop and that the leaders should find a lasting solution and reconcile for develop Kisumu county.

“The leaders should be able to sort out their problems so that we can move forward,” she added.

Ms Odinga also said that she is against the retreat by the county government planned for Nairobi starting tomorrow.

“As the governor’s deputy I advise against this retreat because it will not be provident to use finances constraints to go for the retreat in Nairobi,” said Ms Odinga.
