The more affected ones are the traders at the Naivasha Market which they say have got no roofing and was poorly maintained.

They told journalists yesterday at the market that the construction of the market has always been marred with politics making it impossible for any contractor to see the end of their work.

“Contractors here are changed like clothes. Every contractor who is brought, they say he/she is not good enough. Now everything has been stalled till God knows when,” said Lucia Wairimu, a trader in the market.

They say they spread their merchandise on bare ground under naked sunlight.

“Now it is about to start raining and we do not know how we will do business here because of mud,” another trader Eliza Wambui said.

Naomi Wanjiru asked the area MCA Eunice Mureithi to remember her childhood days when the market was still the way it is and do something for them. The efforts to reach the area MCA for comment were futile as she was said to be attending the assembly seating in Nakuru.
