President Uhuru Kenyatta has appealed to politicians in Kiambu to exercise humility, respect, and accommodate each other’s views.

Speaking at Kijabe Hospital in Lari Sub County on Friday, the President asked politicians in the region to work together to realise development. President Kenyatta said political differences should not be the reason for leaders to hate each other.

“Political leaders should know that they were elected to serve the people and not to fight each other public forums. Political differences and animosity among leaders will divide the country and threaten peace,” he said.

The President urged politicians to take responsibility of their actions instead of blaming each other for the problems facing the society cautioning them against incitement that will likely disrupt peace.

Kenyatta said that the government will not allow politicians to cause divisions among Kenyans through their utterances and actions.

He said the Jubilee government is focused on uniting Kenyans by fighting tribalism.

A section of Kiambu leaders have been at loggerheads especially on polices being passed and implemented by the county government.

Some leaders have accused Governor William Kabogo of failing in his duty and have severally called for his resignation.

The President affirmed the government’s commitment to improve healthcare and make it accessible to all Kenyans when he presided over the AIC Kijabe Hospital Centennial celebrations in Kijabe, Lari Sub County.
