In a tweet on Wednesday, Kuria clarified that he had accused some leaders of being blinded to an extent of failing to see challenges facing poor Kenyans as they campaign for 2022 general elections.

The vocal legislator argued that the message he passed on the weekend was meant to castigate leaders who had put on 'Gucci sunglasses' while playing 2022 politics.

He hit out at 'deviant elements' for misreporting his message to mean that he abused other leaders.

"Over the weekend I spoke in Gilgil and said there are leaders who are wearing GUCCI sunglasses and therefore can not see Wanjiku's problems as they campaign for 2022. Some deviant elements are twisting that to say I referred to some leaders as 'Ngui Ichi'. Shetani ashindwe!," Kuria tweeted

The MP was quoted by the Star newspapers that he hit out at some politicians for putting the country in a campaign mood instead of developing the nation.

“We have years to go before the next general elections but Kenyans are waking daily to politics from their leaders instead of development,” he said as quoted by the Star.
