Renowned law scholars; Miguna Miguna, and Prof Makau Mutua on Sunday engaged in a heated exchange on Twitter.
It all started after Makau Mutua posted a tweet questioning why Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen had "gone mute".
"Why has DP Ruto’s attack dog Kipchuma Murkomen gone mute? The kitchen must have gotten too hot," Makau tweeted.
Responding to the tweet, Murkomen urged the Prof to stop attacking him and focus his energy on bringing Miguna back home.
"You keep attacking me. But I wish to let you know that handshake means peace and tranquility. As an ostensible human rights lawyer I want you to focus your energy on bringing Miguna Miguna back home," Murkomen tweeted.
It is at this point that Miguna joined the conversation firing one shot after the other aimed at the Prof.
"He is trying to repent without actually doing so in words. @kipmurkomen, publicly apologize to me, first, then I may forgive you and endorse your correct message to @makaumutua who has lost any shred of integrity many had believed he had," Miguna tweeted.
"Wacha porojo @MigunaMiguna. Everything isn’t about you. That said, you are a Kenyan and the state must obey court orders and let you back in your motherland," Makau Mutua responded.
"I never even implied that "everything" was about me. Clearly @kipmurkomen mentioned my name in his communication to you. And yes, you are a hypocrite and a human rights pretender. You support tyrants who abused my rights and abuse victims of atrocities. Shame on you," Miguna said.
"See what I mean -- everything comes back to you. Ego. Ego. Ego. Just like Trump, except you will NEVER be elected to anything. That said, the state should obey court orders and let you back home. You will then discover how irrelevant you will become," Makau fired back
“Makau Mutua, you are the worst court jester since the 1652 production of Hinric Hasenberger. You predicted Raila's presidency 3 times and it never happened. You are an irredeemable hypocrite and coward. Predicting political fortunes isn't human rights work, Coward,” Miguna said.
