Kibera youths have been advised to engage in small businesses that can make them grow and help improve their lives and the economy.
Joseph Munyao, a young youth who sells boiled eggs in the slum said many youths in the area lack vision and seem to have no direction especially after completing their secondary of college education.
"I urge my fellow youths to start any small business that can enable them live well instead of engaging in illegal activities such as drugs and crime,” he said.
“I decided to start selling boiled eggs after I realised it was very hard to get a good job to sustain me after I completed my mechanical course. This business has been helpful to me since I get money to pay rent, buy food and clothes as well support my family,” said Munyao.
“One does not need any skills from school to sell boiled eggs. Let youths open up their minds and venture in business to earn living,” he concluded.
