He was speaking from his office in Juja within Juja Sub-county where he met other parents to deliberate on the problems facing them as parents of the area.

He said that last year the students admitted to county schools were very less saying that there is no way the parents contribute to the development of a school and later their children don’t enjoy the facilities in the school.

He further urged the selection tem should not discriminate students from private schools saying that all children have a right to education regardless of the primary school they went to.

He added that in the previous years a child with 340 marks from a private school were finding it hard to be admitted while a student with 300 marks from a public primary school gets admitted to a good county school.

The chairman said that the selection would have only been fair if the parents from all parts of the country took part in the development of the schools which is contrary to some parts of the country.

“We as parents contribute towards the development of the schools there is no way my child will be a admitted in a school without facilities whereas we have given the best facilities to other students in our schools,” Kibe said

Chaos erupted in Nyeri County where there were less students from the county who were admitted to the county schools and thus the parents have asked the exercise to be objective in this year’s selection.
