Professionals from Kisii and Nyamira counties have been asked to invest at home to promote the areas they hail from.
The chairman of the Gusii elite professionals from Nairobi, Moses Nyakiongora said that the professionals from the two counties have been assisting other areas develop with their skills whereas at home they have done little to uplift the status of the infrastructure.
Speaking while giving donations towards building the Nyamira SDA church on Sunday, Nyakiongora said, “We have decided to start by example by engaging ourselves with likeminded people to assist develop our two counties. We want to reach the apex of development in education, projects and build churches.”
On unity of the Omogusii community, the group promised to join itself with the leaders who are seeking the unity on the basis of development. He vowed to thwart efforts which may politicise their programme.
Ben Mogaka, one of the group leaders attested that as the elite, they will show solidarity in developing the counties,
“Development is within our mandate as leaders. We need to start working on projects here at home,” said Mogaka.
