Kiambu County governor William Kabogo has been hailed by Witeithie Ward parents for supporting the Estate Highway Academy pupil who scored 420 marks in the last year’s KCPE examinations.
John Kanyi who is an orphan, was the first pupil in the area to hit the new headlines after scooping what seemed like impossible to the area pupils, unfortunately he was selected to join a county school in Kirinyaga county.
Witeithie Ward parents and residents decried to Kabogo who was on his area tour to issue bursaries last week ordered the summoning of the boy from the school immediately.
Kanyi on Monday reported to the governor’s office accompanied by are MCA Peter Muiruri and teachers of the private school where he had been sponsored to school.
Governor Kabogo took the boy for admission in Starehe Boys Centre where he will be schooling for the next four years.
The governor has further promised to take care of Kanyi’s tertiary level education which made the poor Kanyi say that he will make his new ‘Dad’ proud by achieving all the dreams he has got.
The parents who have been sponsoring the boy have now lauded the governor for the good hearted act that, according to them, potrays the Governor as a good father and leader.
