This is over alleged gross misconduct and impunity.

In a letter written by the ODM Secretary General Ababu Namwamba, the two officials have been suspended for appropriate action by the disciplinary committee.

"ODM has effectively today April 29, 2015 suspended leader of majority in the county assembly of Kisumu Samuel Ongow and the deputy leader," said the letter.

In the letter, Namwamba gave stern warning to all party sponsored leaders in all counties across the country that ODM will not condone any form of misconduct and impunity. However, Ongow said that he has not received any letter about his suspension by the party.

Speaking to journalists at the county assembly premises this morning, Ongow said that he is yet to received official communication from ODM.

Deputy majority leader John Olum termed the suspension as rumours and that there was nothing wrong he had done.

"As far as I am concerned, there's nothing we have done. We have relayed the report to the members and put them together. But if the acting speaker Gabriel Ochieng and Deputy Speaker Pamela Jossy are having wrangles where do I come in?" said Olum.

He added: "If we defied the report, then on that ground we should suspended. But, we did our part and presented the report, had a meeting on Monday and had decision."
