Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Hassan Abdi has reiterated his committment to ensuring criminal gangs in the county are elimintaed.
Speaking during the Mashujaa Day celebrations at Sixty-Four Stadium in Eldoret, Abdi said that there is an increase in cases of insecurity in residential estates and that he would not relent until security is guaranteed to all residents.
"We cannot just sit in our offices being paid and yet the life of residents is being put in jeopardy. Our security officers will move round the clock even if it will mean from door to door to ensure that such individuals are isolated from the law abiding Kenyans," he said.
He said that areas that have registered an increase in insecurity incidents include Kabiemeit, Langas and Huruma.
"We want to ensure anyone can conduct their business 24 hours a day without disturbance in this county so that we can attract more investors," he said while appealing to the public to provide information to security officers.
He also put on notice pickpockets who engage in petty theft in Eldoret Town causing much distress to people warning that their days are numbered and if found will face the wrath of the law.
