Kisii County Assembly Speaker David Kombo dismissed the 2019 census report terming it flawed.
In reference to Nyamira County whose population reportedly stands at 605,576 going by the census results 2019, Kombo said this is unacceptable.
Kombo who was on Friday among the thousands of mourners who turned up at the burial of David Ombogo Michieka, husband to Nominated MCA Mary Goima the demanded a fresh census exercise to be conducted for the people of Nyamira.
"I want to state here clearly that our brothers and sisters from Nyamira County are fertile... The Census figures released few weeks ago that Nyamira has a low population is a lie and therefore, as leaders we should not accept the figures," said Kombo.
"KNBS should come clean and tell Nyamira people why the low figures were captured in the results. Leaders in Nyamira have our support from Kisii County to push for an explanation from KNBS," Kombo assured.
