Residents of Mwariki estate in Nakuru Town East have vowed to kill baboons which enter their homesteads if they are not contained by relevant authorities.
The residents on Monday claimed that a troop of baboons from the nearby Lake Nakuru National Park has been raiding their homes leaving a trail of destruction behind.
They are appealing to the Kenya wildlife Service (KWS) to contain the animals threatening to take action if KWS delays.
Asha Njeri, a resident stated that she could not leave anything outside her house not even air her clothes because the baboons would take anything away.
"On Sunday when I went to church, I aired some beans outside my house to dry, but when I came back I found them all eaten up by the baboons. They even proceeded to take away some of my baby's clothes which they left on the rooftops," she lamented.
Tom Juma was equally vexed by the primates 'incursion' saying that they had now become a nuisance in the area.
"We don't have peace here because these baboons have become too much. They pick anything they come around and even scare our young children. KWS should move in swiftly and help solve the situation or else we will be forced to kill them," he warned.
Efforts to reach the KWS officials from the park were futile as their calls went unanswered.
