Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Hassan Abdi has given a warning to individuals who use matatus as their ‘bar joints’ to sale the illicit brew.

Speaking in his office on Wednesday, Abdi said that he is aware of public service vehicles that are used as ‘bar joints’ along Langas-Huruma highway, warning that they will crack the whip soon.

“My officers have carried out thorough investigations and so far we have arrested over two passenger service vehicles, which have been turned into ‘a bar’, and I won’t tolerate such kind of illegal business which is putting peoples’ lives in danger,” he said.

“The president banned the use and sale of illegal liquor and the fight is still on,” he added.

He further gave a warning to those who are hiding and doing the illegal business to be on the watch, promising to arrest the situation soon.

“The fight against second has been a success so far, more than seventy percent have complied and the rest will follow soon,” he concluded.
