Nakuru residents have been urged to focus on result yielding leaders.
According to Deputy Governor Joseph Ruto, time had come for residents to scrutinise pro-development leaders and separate them from those who never walk the talk.
“It’s time for fulfillment where all leaders are supposed to show the electorate the reasons why they were elected into office,” he said during a leadership forum at the county headquarters on Tuesday.
Ruto called for service delivery saying that at the end of it all, all leaders will be re-elected on basis of how much they have ensured their campaign pledges are realised.
“Act or don’t act, time will come when your efficiency will be put to test because the people are watching,” he said, adding that only result-oriented leaders will be considered in the next elections.
The deputy governor accused young leaders of fuelling their personal agendas at the expense of core agendas that affected the public.
“At the end of the day, we are all elected by the people who expect a lot from us. Let’s prioritise their needs to have a smooth and fruit yielding term,” he offered.
This comes barely a week after Governor Kinuthia Mbugua tasked all leaders to realise their campaign agendas saying that individual indicatives are core in realising collective promises.
