Governor Jackson Mandago has urged Uasin Gishu residents to turn up in large numbers during the four day North Rift Economic block investment conference that starts on Wednesday.

Speakig in his office on Saturday, Mandago said the conference is meant to educate and guide individuals on specific sectors to invest in county governments.

"The conference will open its doors on 18th to 21st November at Sports Club Eldoret where it will officially be opened by President Uhuru Kenyatta on 18th thereafter opened to the public," he said.

He said the conference will bring on board North Rift Economic Bloc counties which include Uasin Gishu, Baringo, Turkana, Samburu, Trans Nzoia, Elgeiyo Marakwet and Nandi counties.

"As NOREMs interim chairman, our intention is to work together to foster economic development and formulate policies to attract investors in respective counties," he said.

He added that it will also facilitate social and cultural empowerment in the region by establishing and designing principles to provide supportive environment as a platform for regional cooperation and prosperity.
