The Manyatta boda boda youth leader Chris Okemwa has urged boda boda operators and other residents of kisumu county to consider joining Saccos and unions. While speaking on Friday at Manyatta to this Hivisasa writer, he cited that forming Saccos had greatly impacted there lives positively.

Okemwa said that Saccos members are for example sensitised to save their daily income thus enabling them to save, bank and borrow money that would help them initiate other small scale businesses.

He challenged locals not to shy away from joining groups and unions terming them as a bridge to coming up with economical initiatives that would improve their living standards.

“We need to use our boda boda industry as a tool to empower most of our locals by acting as role models; this can be done by using our daily income to save and open up small scale ventures that would adds value to living standards," he said.
