Elgeyo Marakwet County Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Tuesday called for various stakeholders to support President Uhuru Kenyatta's reorganization of the cabinet.
In a statement shared on Twitter, Murkomen claimed the president should be supported in accordance with what he said in his speech during the announcement of the reorganization.
Murkomen further pointed out the need for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report to be inclusive citing that it would cater for all parties in the politics including the minority.
Murkomen who is a renown supporter of Deputy President William Ruto has been at the forefront of addressing the apparent division in the Jubilee party.
He has also on several occasions claimed that the leaders who had sided with the Deputy President had been humiliated and victimized.
President Kenyatta’s 2020 “Intentions”, appointments and reorganization of govt must be supported in the context of what he said in his speech thus:” The BBI process is inclusive, it should spell the end of ethnic majoritarianism. It will be the end of winner-take-all politics,” Murkomen's statement read.
Among the major changes that President Uhuru made to the cabinet was sacking the Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri.
The President also named Betty Maina as the Cabinet Secretary for Industrialization. He also directed for the implementation of the new NHIF regulations to be suspended.
