Kenyan social media users have expressed mixed reactions after reports emerged that Deputy President William Ruto was locked out of his official residence in the coast region.
Daily Nation Newspaper published a story titled "Ruto locked out of official residence" which sparked outrage and disappointment among a good number of Kenyans on Twitter.
A section of the KOT claimed that rivals of DP Ruto had now resorted to petty politics, something which should be condemned.
They argued that the rivals were using such means because they were afraid of the Deputy President.
According to the KOT, the politicians should abandon petty politics and instead conduct mature and responsible politics.
Some of the netizens went ahead to demand the Deputy President to be respected regardless of his political stand on some of the matters int he country.
The netizens had also raised allegations that the DP may have been locked out of his residence due to his stand on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Some of Ruto's allies had claimed that they were being victimized for supporting the Deputy President.
The netizens pointed out that victimizing Ruto and his supporters only make him more popular.
