On Sunday, the DP warned state officers against disobeying court orders, adding that Jubilee administration respects the law.

The DP was making reference to the decision by police officers to keep Moses Kuria in detention despite court orders on Friday.

Every public officer has their responsibility both individual and collective to ensure that this country is built on that firm foundation of respect to the rule of law," he said.

But Silas Jakakimba, Raila's private secretary, argues that Dr Ruto has been in the past kept quiet when the court orders were being disobeyed by government institutions.

"DP Ruto is right to say that Court Orders are not tissue papers& must be adhered to. However, listening to his spoken words, unspoken ones & even those hidden in his spirit, I couldn't get why he didn't speak as much when IEBC defied orders to open the servers. Uhuru and Ruto," he wrote.

"This is (part of) the reason(s) I believe we need a holistic assessment of the state of our nation without pointing fingers and agree to a fresh start," he added.
