Kisii County governor James Ongwae has said his government will honour heroes from the county by installing their carvings in various town centres.

“With soapstone at Tabaka, we are going to make carvings of our heroes and heroines and put them in our towns to honour and remember them,” said governor Ongwae.

He said the move will demonstrate respect to the heroes who contributed towards the community's development.

The county boss also said his government will rehabilitate all roads in poor conditions to boost the transport sector.

“We need to have mechanisms in place of maintaining these roads when we have repaired them. Plans are underway to repair all roads," he said.

He also revealed that the country has set aside Sh30 million to carter for El Nino emergencies.
