Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has asked the government to move swiftly and put to an end the rising terror threats in some parts of the country.
Speaking to reporters at Kamuyu trading centre on Tuesday, the MP said that some parts of the country, especially in North Eastern have been turned into a slaughter house for innocent Kenyans.
Condemning the Mandera bus attack, TNA lawmaker called on the government to put in place adequate measures to protect the citizens.
“It’s so saddening to see innocent and hardworking Kenyans being slaughtered like chicken,” he said.
The lawmaker said that Al-Shabaab’s motive is to declare war between the Christians and Muslims, a move he said should be condemned.
Kuria said that Kenyans are afraid of their safety, stating that the government must move with haste to rectify the situation.
The MP added that the country has enough security personnel and machinery to curb any cases of terror and crime.
He said that time has come for the country’s top security brass to take responsibility and assure Kenyans of their safety.
Meanwhile, the MP has called for withdrawal of non-Muslim workers from regions experiencing terror attacks.
He said that the country cannot afford to lose hardworking individuals who have devoted their time and energy to work for the nation to terrorists.
The MP also asked the government to compensate the families who lost their beloved ones in the weekend's Mandera bus attack where 28 Kenyans were butchered by suspected Al-Shabaab militia.
