National Campaign against Drug Abuse (Nacada) chairman John Mututho has supported the move by Uasin Gishu County Government to arrest rogue bars operators.
Mututho said that the agency will support county governments in a bid to curb drug abuse and substance abuse.
Speaking when he paid a courtesy call at the Uasin Gishu Alcoholic and Drinks Control Board chairman Armstrong Rono over the weekend, Mututho said the agency will not be lenient to bar operators contravening the law.
Mututho said the agency has streamlined the fight against drug abuse and called on county government to support the war against drugs.
“Nacada will remain focused and deal with rogue bar operators and drug dealers who want to turn our society into drug dens,” said Mututho.
Mututho asked bar operators and other stakeholders in the sector to tore the line or quit.
He said more measures are being put in place to intensify war against drug abuse.
He at the same time called for cooperation within state agencies mandated to fight drugs abuse in terms of arrest, investigation and timely prosecution.
On his part Rono revoked rogue operators licenses adding that more crack down will be conducted.
Rono urged bar and entertainment operators in the county to adhere to regulations to avoid rubbing shoulders with the law.
