Kenyans on social media have criticized controversial blogger Robert Alai for the remarks he shared on Twitter after the death of Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso. Kenyans have not only condemned the remarks made by the blogger on Tuesday, but also termed them as insensitive.
Robert Alai, who is not new to controversy, claimed in his tweet that every person who dies from cancer is important and therefore the death of one leader should not be elevated.
"80 Kenyans die everyday from cancer. 32,000 every single year. All the 80 are important. We can’t elevate the death of one of the greedy leaders who should have put policies in place to be above that of poor Kenyans who have no option of going abroad to live longer," Robert Alai wrote on Twitter.
This was however not the first time that the blogger was writing controversial remarks related to the death of the late governor Laboso. On Monday evening he also came to the centre of criticism after he indirectly commented on the death of the governor.
A section of the netizens have condemned the blogger and asked him to allow the family of the late Governor to mourn in peace. The netizens pointed out that it was inappropriate for him to issue out such remarks at a time when the nation is mourning one of their leaders.
