Kiambu County National Alliance (TNA) party coordinator Gladys Chania has called on Kiambu leaders to work together and shun political divisions.

Speaking to journalists in her office in Kiambu on Tuesday, Chania said that it was important and necessary for the elected leaders in the county to work towards common development goals.

She said that wrangles and accusations among a section of county leaders is not good for development.

The Kiambu TNA coordinator said that unity will see the county register development.

“Elected and nominated leaders in Kiambu County should embrace unity and work together towards development,” she said.

Chania further urged leaders to refrain from making inflammatory statements that could cause disunity among Kenyans.

Meanwhile, Chania challenged youths in the county to collect their Identification Cards (IDs) in order to register as voters.

The coordinator noted that many youth who have reached the eligible age to acquire IDs are not making an effort to get the important documents.

She also urged those who have not collected their IDs from various chiefs’ offices across the county to do so.

“I am urging youth across Kiambu County to ensure they collect their IDs so that they can take part in the forthcoming general elections,” she said.

The TNA coordinator said that campaigns to sensitise youth on the importance of acquiring IDs will be conducted across the county.

“We have started a drive to encourage youth and other residents to apply for IDs,” she said.
