Authorities at the Naivasha Sub-County Referral Hospital have called on the area residents to come out and collect their relatives' bodies from the facility.

According to the hospital's superintendent Dr. Joseph Mburu, operations stall when residents take long to collect bodies.

"With a capacity of 12, you can imagine how things are now that we have about 30 bodies," he said.

Dr. Mburu attributes the congestion to residents who have deposited their kins bodies at the facility then act as if they have forgotten.

"Our plea to our esteemed customers is that they should try to understand that our mortuary is small and therefore congestion hinders effective service delivery," he added.

He further called on the county government to either increase the capacity of available morgues or allocate more public land where uncollected bodies can be buried to help avert the situation.
