Kisumu County parents have been challenged not to spend their funds on wrong areas during the April holidays.

County Education CeC Jennifer Kere, speaking at Migosi SDA Church on Saturday at a church function, called on parents to use their assets responsibly during April holidays as schools would soon open.

Kere asked parents to invest in their children’s education by using the assets they had by buying them relevant learning materials to boost education amongst them.

She noted that most of the parents forgot about school during holidays leading to their overspending the assets on wrong things. She challenged the parents to prioritise by putting education first.

According to the CeC, lack of proper and prior planning was leading to failure and she asked the parents to keep their children on toes on matters education.

“To boost our children’s performance and for quality output, we must highly invest by keeping them on check through allocation of funds towards improving their education,” said Kere.

She added that children who lacked basic needs in school were prone not to doing well since they would be suffering from lack.

Nominated MCA Caroline Ogot was also in attendance.
