At least 13 expectant students in Webuye East Constituency will seat for this year's national examinations while in hospital.
According to Webuye East Sub-County Director of Education, Sospeter Were, five of the students are Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates while 8 are Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates.
He noted that most of the students are expected to deliver during the exam period.
In a meeting with various education stakeholders on Thursday at St. Mathews ACK Secondary School in Webuye Town, Were argued stakeholders in various schools to make sure that expectant students comfortably sit for their national exams.
He argued the school management to help the students in all ways possible as they too have a right to education.
“We have talked to the school heads and centre managers that when a student is due to deliver they should communicate to us so that we dispatch a vehicle to take them to the hospital,” said Were as quoted by Daily Nation.
Various counties across the country have too expectant students.
Vehicles have been put on the stand by in various areas to help ferry expectant students who might deliver during the exam periods to nearby hospitals.
