Former Tetu MP James Ndung’u Gethenji has won a Sh20 billion case against his elder brother Gitahi Gethenji.
On Tuesday, High Court judges Loise Komingoi and Margaret Muigai gave the former MP the authority to manage a high-end estate in Kitisuru.
According to Business Daily, the former MP is the controlling shareholder of Kihingo Village (Waridi Gardens) and Kihingo Village (Waridi) Management One (KVWGML) which owns the high-end estate. Ndung'u won the case at the Milimani Commercial Courts, Commercial and Tax Division.
The Waridi Gardens Estate located at the posh Kitisuru suburb in Nairobi, has a Club House whose value is estimated to be more than Sh4 billion. There are also 55 houses each valued at Sh400 million.
The two brothers were engaged in a court battle over control of the multi-billion property inherited from their father, Joseph Augustine Gethenji.
Ndung’u was among the youthful Members of Parliament who were elected during President Uhuru Kenyatta's first term in office. He vied on a TNA party ticket in 2013 and was succeeded by James Guchuhi Mwangi of Jubilee in 2017.
Their late father also served as Tetu MP after working in Mzee Jomo Kenyatta's government as the Director of Personnel Management (DPM).
When President Daniel Moi took over power, Joseph Gethenji was appointed the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Labour.
