A 29-year-old man lost his life while another one is nursing injuries at Machakos Level Five hospital after they were stabbed on Tuesday night at Miwani, Machakos County.

According to a police report seen by Hivisasa, the victims identified as Peter Wayua and Wambua Muasya were in the company of some men who had rushed to help the lady before getting stabbed.

"It was reported by one Alfred Kilonzo at about 2330hrs that there was a fight between Maasai and Kamba men in Miwani. Police officers on patrol swiftly responded to the scene," read the report in part.

The 25-year-old lady identified as Catherine Wayua had arrived at a club in the company of three Maasai men before a disagreement ensued between them.

The lady fled to seek refuge but her assailants caught up with her and started beating her.

"It was established that three Maasai men who were taking beer in the company of a 25-year-old lady disagreed, the lady fled to seek refuge and the three men pursued and started beating her," said the report.

"Some men who were around intervened to save the lady and in the commotion, two of them were stabbed and we're rushed to Machakos Level Five Hospital," the report continued.

Three suspects including the lady have been arrested in connection with the incident and will help with investigations.

The body of the man who died is at Machakos Level Five Hospital mortuary.
