Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has read malice in Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report saying it is now being used a reset button for conflict in Kenya.
The senator questioned why people are being harassed for not supporting the report adding that the supporters of the report must be ready to listen to views of others as well.
"I find the BBI to be a reset button for conflict in the country. Why are people being beaten? Let us accept alternative views from those who do not agree with what has been proposed," he stated during an interview with NTV on Tuesday.
He further asserted that there is something President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga are not telling Kenyans about the report.
The lawmaker said that the two leaders need to come clean on the report before Kenyans can endorse it.
He poked holes in the BBI popularisation tours, saying that they are being used to undermine some leaders.
"It was a very interesting day watching what happened over the weekend in regard to the BBI. There's something genuine about BBI that we are not being told," he said.
The legislator asked the BBI task force under the chairmanship of Senator Yusuf Haji to share its opinion with Kenyans.
He wondered why ODM has taken over the popularisation of the report when there is a committee in place.
"The president introduced the Haji committee. Why can't we listen to what the Haji committee will present to us in regard to the BBI?" he asked.
