Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi has lauded Devolution and Planning Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru for resigning.
Speaking in Matuu Town on Sunday, Mwangangi said that Waiguru set a good example by resigning as the move will pave way for investigations.
Mwangangi said that Waiguru's earlier stand of refusing to step down was portraying her in bad light making her look guilty of the offence.
"I would like to congratulate CS Waiguru for the step she has taken, regardless of the reasons she gave,” said Mwangangi.
The member of parliament asked the government to see to it that a proper probe and audit is conducted, to ensure the culprits are brought to book.
Waiguru had been fighting pressure from the opposition to step aside, following the loss of Sh791 million from the NYS sector.
