The protests occurred in the streets of Eldoret town, led by North Rift Youth Forum patron Hezekiah Kosgey. The protestors said that it was very wrong for the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee to go ahead and recommend the removal of all the commissioners of EACC.

"We strongly disagree with the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee for what we term as incorrect recommendations. We fully support the EACC and we want to urge the committee to kindly reconsider their recommendations," Kosgey said.

Kosgey said that the committee was missing a very key mark since the EACC was the only body that had been instituted to fight corruption in this country.

"We all have faith with the EACC and we fully support it. It is very wrong for such a committee to say that EACC should be disbanded instead of going ahead and giving it all the support and help so that it can ensure that corruption is fully fought in this country,” Kosgey said.

Eunice Kiplagat, a student at University of Eldoret said that the youth needed to wake up and stand for what was right.

“We, as the youth are saying that the committee did a very wrong recommendation and that is why we want it to take it back. We as youths want corruption to end so that we can get equal shares when it comes to employment opportunities. It is through EACC that we can fight corruption in this country,” Kiplagat said.

Faith Wanjiru, another protestor added that the recommendation made by that committee showed that the committee was self-centred and that it was working towards their own agendas, not that of the common mwananchi.
