This is after the two, alongside supporters of Jumwa, allegedly stormed a meeting organized by ODM MCA candidate Reuben Katana, leaving one person shot dead.

But emerging details have indicated that Okuto is not a police office with details indicating that he is her confidant who has only been driving her around.

The two have remained together since meeting during the ODM's in 2016, and remained close since.

Otieno, who hails from Karachuonyo in Homabay, was previously an attached ex-Nairobi governor Evans Kidero, before breaking away to vie for an MCA seat, where he lost.

He is also not new to gun incidents, after being branded a "dangerous man" by the police after getting involved in a similar scuffle in Nairobi's Mathare ODM primaries before the 2017 polls.

People aware if their relationship in Malindi told the Standard that Jumwa has her official bodyguard who is not Okuto, adding that he has only been driving her around.

Both were arrested after the Tuesday incident, which left Katana's uncle dead, with the police investigating Okuto's possible role in the shooting and killing.
