Speaking at Ndumberi grounds on Tuesday, Kabogo said that there have been delays in release of funds meant for workers salaries in the last two months.

Kabogo urged the National Treasury to put in place measures that will ensure funds are released on time.

He said frequent strikes by nurses and doctors over delay in release of funds were affecting service delivery.

“The National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich should address the frequent delays in release of funds to counties so that service delivery is not affected,” he said.

Kabogo urged county workers who have not been paid as a result of delays in release of funds to be patient as the county resolves the matter.

Meanwhile, Kiambu County senator Kimani Wamatangi has said that the senate is pushing for more allocation of funds to counties.

Wamatangi who spoke at Ndumberi grounds said that there is need for more allocation of funds to counties to spearhead development.

The senator however urged county governments to use the funds allocated to them wisely.
