Elderly women and vulnerable groups from Ikombe have received some food from their MCA Nathaniel Ng'ang'a.

The donation on Wednesday morning saw foodstuff worth Sh500,000 given.

Ng'ang'a said he knew of the residents' plight from the media.

He called on Governor Alfred Mutua to ensure all the areas affected by hunger were taken care of.

The MCA added that he will table a motion in the county assembly to establish a kitty to support the poor who have always been affected by droughts.

"We should think of a permanent solution instead of rushing to act every time there is a problem. I will seek support from my fellow leaders in the assembly to ensure we set aside a kitty since disaster management funds are not enough for this," he added.
